Pols Piece Holidays, Cornwall

Pols Piece Holidays is situated on the north coast of Cornwall near Padstow and is the perfect setting for a peaceful family getaway. We recently visited for a long weekend as our first assignment for Approved Family Friendly and we had a lovely break. The apartments are like a home from home and are well equipped with everything you will require during your stay - we were even greeted with scones, clotted cream and jam upon arrival!

We found Pols Piece with ease using our sat-nav and there was plenty of parking. The key was waiting in the door for us to let ourselves in. I was quite pleased that there was no hassle of checking in and completing forms after a long journey in the car!

We stayed in the ground floor apartment named Crugmeer, 1 of the 7 available, and it was clean and
spacious with incredible views of the sea from both the lounge and 1st twin bedroom. The lounge doors also unlock onto a large communal outdoor space where the Mini Mes had access to a climbing frame complete with sandpit and swings and a seesaw which they thoroughly enjoyed. It was great that I could sit in the chair by the window watching them play with the sound of birds in the distance of Trevose Head.

The apartment, which has 2 bedrooms, 1 of which is en suite, has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker with extractor hood, microwave, TV, DVD player, Freeview box and free WIFI. Although suited for 4 people the sofa does open into a double bed too and there is ample room for travel cots. There are also lots of drawers and wardrobes for your clothing to be unpacked into.

The beds weren't made but everything required was laid out on top of each ready which saved time preparing them. The rooms have wall mounted heaters and the beds also had heated blankets which was particularly appreciated during our visit in early Spring.

The bathroom is of a good size, as is the bath, and there is a heated hand rail, shaver point and a shutter on the window for added security/safety. The kitchen diner has a table and 4 chairs and there were games and books supplied within the apartment which we enjoyed in the evenings.
It has everything needed for your stay.

There is a games room near the entrance which is decorated with Disney artwork and has a ping pong table, tent, play house and other equipment suitable for small children to use free of charge.
Even if you don't wish to leave the site there is enough to keep you and your little ones entertained for a few days and we had great fun playing here even though it could do with a little updating and some heating.

There is a laundry room where you can wash and dry your clothes for a small fee if required and although we didn't use this it is handy to have on site.

Jo, the owner, popped by a little while after we arrived for a chat and informed me that there are chickens nearby where you can buy fresh eggs, a pub within walking distance and a shop which stocks local produce as well as other branded goods. She also provided details on how to reach the beach and the natural pool! You really don't need to travel far to stock up on food and drink and it's a great base for those wishing to go surfing, rambling, cycling, sailing etc.

I would happily return to Pols Piece (and hopefully will do this summer) as I felt really relaxed and comfortable there - it's also a great location for some wonderful nearby attractions that are ideal for families.

*I received a free weekend break at Pols Piece as part of the Approved Family Friendly network. The opinions given are honest and our own.*

  22. How lovely!
So many places this days go for a luxury style and they forget about being child friendly... with all high polished floors and glass everywhere
