'Home' The Movie Toys Review

I'm not sure who is more excited about seeing the latest film from Dreamworks; Home. It looks like a feel good family must-see for Easter and we will be going to watch it next week at our local cinema. The Mini Mes are very much looking forward to it with pick n mix and popcorn to hand, and I think the main character will be so cute and lovable on screen having seen the trailer several times upon request!

"When Oh, a lovable misfit from another planet, lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people, he forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip who is on a quest of her own.  Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human.  And while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME"

In the meantime we have been sent some movie merchandise to enjoy in our own home. Flair have a great collection of toys with all the recognisable characters from the movie including Oh, Tip and Captain Smek so children can bring the world of BOOV's to life through play.

Animated Dancing Plush (29.99)
This was an instant hit. By pressing the button on Oh's pod you will activate movement and one of four phrases or songs. It has 4 wheels on the base and it rotates easily on flat surfaces to sing and dance and it waves its arms in the air. It's great for getting little ones to be active and the soft fabric is ideal for lots of hugs. It needs 2 AAA batteries which come with it, it has quality embroidered detailing and it's quite large at 24cm tall.

Plush (£6.99)
Minxy fell in love with this (although I quite wanted it myself!) as it makes a great bedtime companion. It soon found its way onto her duvet with her other soft toys taking up prime pillow space. It has an almost velour feeling and it is very pretty in pink. There are some other characters available too with each being 13cm in size and suitable for children aged 3+

Shusher Wand (£9.99)
This is perfect for role play and pretending to be Captain Smek from the film. It features realistic sound effects and a variety of phrases. By pressing the golden button on the handle the top opens to reveal a miniature sized character! The end also lights up to lead the way and the 2 batteries required are included which is a bonus. You just need to be careful that the kids don't use it as a weapon!

Angry, Naughty and Shocked

Boov Ears (£3.99)
These come in 6 colours and the Mini Mes had lots of fun moving the poseable ears into different positions and creating some funny looks. You can change the shape to reflect your mood and the packaging shows some of the ones you could attempt yourself. If you fold them down flat you could also use it as a soft hair band as Minxy discovered. I think I may need to get another so their have their own as these have been very popular.

Mood Bubbles (£2.49)
These are great value and would make nice pocket money treats. There are 18 to collect and each plastic ball contains a  2 inch figure to play with in a different mood with a curved removable base. The Mini Mes have been rolling these happily along the hallway for ages and seeing if they could collide!

We were really impressed by all of these products. They have provided hours of fun and they seem really robust.

Have you seen Home yet?
