The Children's Book Tour Continues (PLUS Your Chance To Win)

I always encourage reading, whether it's a fun bedtime story, the latest book from the school library or a magazine as it really is so beneficial to the Mini Mes. Minxy is really enjoying the David Walliams collection at the moment whereas Jamster is captivated by the adventures in the Beast Quest series. There are so many great authors to explore and with great deals available on websites like The Book People and Red House it's definitely worth building up your own bookcase for at home.

Scottish Friendly Children's Book Tour (organised by Scottish Book Trust) takes the very best UK and international authors directly into schools across Scotland and the UK to inspire a love of reading, writing and illustration. In January the Scottish Friendly Children’s Book Tour visited schools in Birmingham with the wonderful author, illustrator, playwright and poet Vivian French!

Vivian has published over 200 books for children of all ages including the hugely successful series The Tales from the Five Kingdoms, the first of which, The Robe of Skulls, won the 2008 Stockton Children’s Book of the Year Award.

She has some great tips on keeping an audience in engaged when telling a story...

To celebrate the tour we have a signed copy of 'The Snarling of Wolves' to give away!

To celebrate the 2015 tour we have a signed book from Vivian French to give away; you can enter via the Gleam entry form below.
The giveaway ends at 11.59pm GMT on 12th April 2015.
Answering the question and leaving a comment is mandatory but there are additional entry methods available also.

Good luck!

Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis. I would climb into my wardrobe with a torch to read it, and yearn to find Narnia.

  13. I've alwaysd read prolifically but my all time favourite book has to be Tolkein's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings set. I read them for the first time when I was 10 years old and have been a huge fantasy fan ever since

  21. One of my favourites was Green Smoke, by Rosemary Manning, and then the Dark is Rising series. My daughter loved being read to, so that was fun, I got to enjoy all my old favourites all over again. Later she really got into Harry Potter.
