Family Fun at Greenwood Forest Park

Named the best family attraction in North Wales for the past 4 years, GreenWood Forest Park caught our eye while travelling around Snowdonia during April. Entry for the four of us would have been just under £40 so for a day of entertainment that's really good value. The setting is very natural and relaxing and dogs are welcome on site too which is certainly a bonus when on holiday with pets.

Aimed more so at younger children, the attraction has a combination of indoor and outdoor play areas plus some furry and feathered friends to see too. It really is a place of adventure, fun and confidence building with the challenges to get involved with. We began our day by going on the Green Dragon Coaster which is a people powered ride, the only world's only, where you can email the snap shot to yourself to print at home for just £1.50 at the end. I thought this was such a great idea!

We moved on to the stilt walking area which is cleverly situated on wood chips to prevent injury and then onto the archery. Two activities that you don't often get an opportunity to have a go at without additional costs so it was nice that these were included in the entry fee. We were all allowed three arrows to fire at a time and as a competitive family this was really enjoyable for us. We counted up our points to see who the winner was... The Mr boo, hiss.

One of the highlights of the day was the Great Green Run where the Mini Mes returned endlessly for racing. The Mr quite liked having a go also on the 70m run. There is a smaller version for toddlers beside it so the entire family can get involved and the views from the top over the woodland are quite lovely.

We then went to do some den building followed by a trip to Treetop Towers which is an incredible playground spread across several layers with various slides and bridges to scurry along. We could easily have spent a good hour or so at this section, if not longer, as the Mini Mes had a fantastic time, but the rain soon started to fall so we decided to investigate GreenWood further.

The Moon Karts were very popular and there were single and two seater ride-ons to use. Again we spent quite a while here - the Mr and I were able to sit and watch from a nearby bench while the Mini Mes zoomed around having a great time! It was actually a struggle to get them off for a while with '1 more minute' or 'just another lap mum' on repeat.

We viewed the fluffy bunnies at the Rabbit Village, had a look at the Giant Jumper and WildWEB
and had plenty of outdoor play before heading home. There were a few things we didn't go on but due to the very cold weather we didn't feel the Barefoot Trail would be appropriate. We look forward to giving this a go when we are next in the area along with the Jungle Boats, Forest Theatre and the Crocodile Maze which is currently under construction.

We took a picnic with us but there is a cafe on site and also Snowdon Snax which sells a variety of nibbles and drinks at reasonable prices. It's an easy to locate attraction with ample parking and good facilities. There are also wheelchairs to hire if required but it's best to call beforehand to check availability.
