A Woodland Walk At Everdon

The Christmas break seemed to whizz by in a blur of turkey, presents and festive films so we didn't really venture far, bar seeing relatives. It was therefore lovely to get some fresh (and rather cold) air on the Mini Mes' school training day.

The weather was on the miserable side which was actually beneficial, as we therefore had the peaceful wood all to ourselves to explore.

I tried to recreate our photo from here

We are very lucky to have so many great places to walk locally. We can go by foot to the huge open fields nearby or alternatively a short car journey in any direction will take us to forests and rivers.
We hadn't been to Everdon for a while so this was our decision for the afternoon.

Minxy was keen to have a snoop around some existing dens and the poochie just wanted to splosh about in all the mud. Despite being in the great outdoors Jamster just wanted to discuss Minecraft to whoever would listen as he is hoping to create his own YouTube tutorials... you may see him online soon!

I actually remembered to take my 'proper' camera so I had an opportunity to take a few snaps while we were there. I'm trying to improve my photography so it certainly helps having my Canon in tow instead of my iPhone, especially as that now has a broken screen. Ooops.

I'm looking forward to the snow later this week and hopefully getting out with our wellies again along with our sledges for a few more photos and lots more fun.

Where have you been as a family recently?

  19. Woodland walks are by past the best outdoors activity to do, whether you've got kids or not in my opinion! Woodland is always therapeutic and it's nice to just be between the trees and lose yourself (hopefully not literally!). I love the wellies picture with the dog, very cute! Ray xx #mmwbh
