Quality School Shoes from Start-rite

At this time of year white school shirts might be looking a little grey, trousers may be thinning on the knees and shoes may be scuffed beyond recognition, but it's frustrating having to purchase new items so close to the summer holiday isn't it?! Start-rite however have a hard-wearing range of footwear which should last right until the summer begins and far into the new academic year, so if you're child is in need of new shoes now it might actually be a great time to buy them.

Jamster has been putting a pair to the test over the past month to see how they fared and we were rather impressed by the results.

The Warrior black school shoes come in a good variety of sizes and widths, including half measurements, for the perfect fit. The riptape fastening is a nice time saver in the morning as there are no fiddly laces to face before the commute and the padded ankle ensures comfort all week long.

Jamster really liked the style of these and the lightweight, flexible sole which meant they were ideal to wear for all of the activities he gets up to throughout his day. He is always telling me how he has been zooming around on the scooters, climbing the playground apparatus and practising his parkour skills so I was keen to see if, and how well, these survived when worn by such an energetic boy.

In comparison to other branded footwear he has had in the past, the Warrior shoes appear to be quite robust and after 4 weeks of wear they still look incredibly smart and tidy. As long as his feet don't grow in the meantime, although we did opt for a slightly larger size when ordering for this reason, he can definitely continue to wear these in September. It's one less thing I need to worry about getting during the 6 week break!

The Warrior shoes currently retail at £49 with a low delivery charge of just £2.99

  1. Buying school shoes for the children always filled me with dread. My idea of what is attractive and practical is rarely the same as the children's idea of it!

  3. Ohh! I think I will have to have closer look at Start-rite. My youngest has shoes and they only last a matter of weeks before they are scuffed x

  5. Great shoes, must admit I always used to buy cheap shoes for school but always ended up buying 3 or 4 pairs a year for each child ( and I have 4 ! ) so for the last 3 years I always buy decent shoes .x

  13. I absolutely hate the annual school shoe shopping trip! It's always a nightmare, from the endless queues in store, to the fitting and then the endless arguing over choosing!
