When Dreams Become Reality

With a dream to become a vet and a love of art, Minxy was rather excited to take part in a challenge from Petplan Equine Insurance to draw a horse, with the only limit being her imagination.

She picked up her pens and some paper and got to work designing a variety of magical animals, with iridescent manes, unicorn horns and brightly coloured coats ready to be transformed into a real soft toy for her to treasure. What a lovely idea.

Minxy used to love My Little Pony when she was a little younger so she based this drawing on her favourite character; Twilight Sparkle.

She stuck with purple as the main colour but added a splash of yellow to brighten it up and angled the legs to give the impression that it was running through fields of flowers or perhaps even flying through the sky. To finish her picture she used large stickers for the eyes from a cute little book a friend had given her for her birthday earlier this year.

After a few weeks the postman knocked at the door with a parcel and Minxy was really impressed that the soft toy, which arrived in a beautiful pink silk bag, was so very similar to her actual drawing.
It now sits proudly on the end of her bed with her pillows and bears.

Since Petplan's inception in 1976, their priority has been to keep the nation's horses healthy and their owners happy. Petplan has worked with more animal rehoming charities than any other pet insurance provider - they work with more than 1,200 charities throughout the UK.

In 1994, they formed the Petplan Charitable Trust which has so far raised more than £7million towards a better, healthier world for animals. It's certainly a company that I would now consider for insurance in the future, as and when Minxy gets a real horse, even if it isn't quite as magical as this one!
