My week that was, the last of the summer!

I can't believe it's September already and the summer holiday has almost come to an end. I've had such a lovely time and I'll be sad to see the Mini Mes head back to school on Wednesday. I am however looking forward to Autumn, running through crisp leaves, another family holiday and of course Halloween...

Monday was a bank holiday and unfortunately the Mr had to work. The weather was miserable so we spent the majority of the day indoors completing puzzles and watching movies out of the cold.

Tuesday we spent indoors again but this time it included drawings and reviewing a variety of lovely products that we had received the week previously while on holiday.

Wednesday we baked some delicious cookies and in the afternoon the Mini Mes went to their dad's home. They stayed Wednesday - Sunday which is the longest I've ever been without them. I missed them soooo much but at the same time the Mr and I did enjoy a nice couples holiday.

Thursday morning we packed up and set off to Linolnshire. We selected an adults only camp site named Long Acres in Old Leake and it was lovely. It was very quiet with only 6 other campers in caravans (we took one of our tents) but that was what we wanted. We set up our tent, popped to the shops for supplies and I cooked spaghetti bolognese for dinner which was washed down nicely with several vodka and cokes!

Friday the weather was superb! We decided to head to Skegness where we enjoyed a very long stroll on the beach in the sunshine and ice creams. Afterwards we had a lovely BBQ back at the tent and of course a few more drinks *hiccup*.

Saturday morning we headed home. After unpacking and sorting washing we went out for a lovely Italian with my parents and then on to a pub quiz.

Sunday the Mr's back was playing up (we so need to invest in a new bed) so we didn't go very far from home today. We popped to Tesco for the food shopping and then watched Lockout before the Mini Mes came home. Their dad bought their new school shoes while they stayed with him so they gave us a little catwalk and told us what they had been up to while away (Duxford air museum, metal detecting and playing football).

What did you get up to last week?
