Like any siblings, Minxy and Jamster bicker over the littlest of things at the moment and tell tales on one another daily. Usually it's down to something as small as what song is on the radio, who's sitting in the front of the car or who has left their fruit at lunch, but it's also great to stand back and watch their relationship flourish too. They seem to be communicating nicely and a lot of disputes are sorted between themselves. They have bonded a lot more recently which I think is mainly due to the fact that they have similar interests and because they are getting so grown up.
They will soon be 10 and 12 in a few months!
They praise each other when they succeed in a new challenge and then support and encourage each other to reach goals. I've really noticed that their confidence has increased because of this, both independently and in groups. They thrive when they get back to basics and they have suggested we go on another Forest Holiday this year when we were booking holidays as they enjoyed it so much. Especially the bush skills.
They have both also decided that they want to create a YouTube channel together where they can share Minecraft tutorials like their current idol, Stampylongnose! This is something they discussed enthusiastically while walking around Everdon. I have no idea how to play it myself and I don't see the appeal but they would, if I let them, play the game for hours. They are very creative and like to build things as a team, both on the Xbox and with sticks, blankets or Lego.
I would love to build this duo into a trio and I'm hoping to sway the Mr an additional sibling is needed in the very near future. Maybe this year?
What have your children been up to lately?
Emma has started a number of after school classes this semester as before Christmas we struggled to keep her entertained in the house. I hope they will not only give her a chance to relax but also to make new friends. Good luck with the swaying, we have had the same debates this month, men are less enthusiastic about the subject ;-).xx
