As a family that loves to try new and exciting recipes, spend afternoons baking and host theme nights with cuisines from around the world, we were eager to try the Cooking Fever app. Available for iPhone, iPad, Android, WP and Kindle it is easy and FREE to download to make rainy days, travel or waiting rooms that little bit more fun!
Features:
- More than 400 dishes to cook using 100 ingredients
- 15 unique locations: Bakery, Fast-Food Court, Chinese, Pizzeria, Seafood Bistro, Indian Diner, Breakfast Café, Sushi, Chinese, Ice Cream Bar, Paradise Cocktail Bar, Corn Dog Van, Café Mexicana, House of Crab and FC Barcelona Sports Bar. More locations are on the way!
- More than 500 levels to complete
- Hundreds of upgrades for your kitchen appliances and interiors
- Lots of spontaneous Challenges for different levels
How to play:
The aim of the game is to buy and complete each restaurant with 3 stars on every level to maximise your experience (XP) level. This will help you progress through the game and open more exciting restaurants. Customers will ask for a specific dish or drink. Your goal is to serve this to them as quickly as possible to maximise your tips and customer satisfaction.
Minxy and I in particular, the biggest cooks in the house, enjoyed this game and found it quite addictive too! Creating dishes and keeping customers content within the time provided gets more difficult as you progress through the levels and we both liked the challenge. It was great to find such a lovely variety of meals with both fast food and healthier options available for play, spotting celeb customers and being rewarded for completing goals and achievements.
You can use the coins and gems you receive, or choose to purchase, to upgrade your restaurants look and equipment to make life as a chef that little easier. It also improves the experience for your customers making them more patient and bigger tippers which certainly helps.
It doesn't take long to learn how to play and the tutorials available help you through the first few levels if you need any assistance. You use your finger on your device to drag items to pans to cook and then into rolls, buns, etc before swiping across to your customers to consume and pay for. You have to keep your eye on the oven, just as you would in a real kitchen, to prevent any food getting burnt so Cooking Fever is really good for developing timing skills and hand eye coordination in children and adults alike.
