Farmhouse Breakfast Week runs from 26th January - 1st February and is a great campaign to promote the importance of breakfast for you and your family. Getting up just a few minutes earlier each day to prepare something to eat could really help you to concentrate better and lower stress levels - it's definitely worth having some toast, cereal or a delicious alternative each morning.
Ingredients
75g plain flour
50g wholemeal plain flour
1 large egg
350ml semi-skimmed milk
100g granola
2 tbsp rapeseed oil
Fruit
Honey
Method
- Place the flours in a large bowl and whisk in the egg, then gradually whisk in the milk to form a batter. Stir in the granola.
- Heat a little oil in an 18cm based frying pan and add a ladle of the batter until the base is covered. Cook for 1 minute or until golden, flip over and cook the same on the other side. Repeat to make 8 pancakes and keep them warm separated by squares of baking parchment.
- Fill the pancakes with the fruit of your choice and a drizzle of honey then fold into quarters.
- Scoff!

ReplyDeleteI love a full English breakfast. Don't often have them, so when I do it's great. I don't, usually, then have to eat until the evening.
ReplyDeleteI have toast for breakfast during the week and sometime treat myself to a bacon sandwich at the weekend. I love fruit salad but don't have it often because I it doesn't stay fresh for long
