I'm back on my meal replacement plan for a couple of weeks to lose a few more pounds (you can read about how well I've done so far here) but I shall still be cooking family meals for the rest of the household. That's willpower for you!
I've therefore let the Mr and the Mini Mes chose the menu...
I've therefore let the Mr and the Mini Mes chose the menu...
- A family favourite - lasagne always results in clear plates. I like to use chicken and bacon instead of beef from time to time too
- The Mini Mes are really getting into spicier foods now so I use these curry and casserole recipes but add a splash of Tabasco or some added chilli to heat it up even more so!
- Minxy is at a friend's Thursday after school and having pizza so Jamster has requested to have it here too
- I'm going to be a bit more adventurous with soup making and try to add some chunks of chicken, chorizo etc so it's more filling
What is on your menu this week?
Sounds good!
ReplyDeletegreat idea,thanks x
ReplyDeleteWell I made an Indian chat recipe today .., might steal some of your ideas to make my this weeks meal. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteMy hubby does most of the cooking in our house he made us a fantastic Mousaka and home made stew this week

ReplyDeleteLovely menus. I like making soups too, our favourite is pea and ham.
I've never been a fan of lasagne for some reason, even though I like all the ingredients and love spag bog etc. Is that weird?
ReplyDeleteGreat list, I do love a good meal plan!
ReplyDeleteI love soup (my husband recently bought me a soup maker) but I can't get my 2 teenagers to eat it at all, they use it to make smoothies instead!
ReplyDeleteI don't tend to plan meals, maybe I should. Though I often think of eating healthy / healthier. Do enjoy salads, fruit and vegetables, though wish we had a mobile green grocers as these seem to be the items which we need fresh, don't stay fresh for long and can be heavy to carry home from shopping trips.

Your title 'Meal Planning Monday' caught my eye as my mother used to plan her meals for the week before she went shopping and buy accordingly. That habit seems to have been lost over time so perhaps those of us who don't plan should give it a go to see what we can save, be it time, money or waste.
ReplyDeleteI'll be making mac and cheese as it's hubby's fave
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm fasting today so thank you now I want eat everything from your list ;)
ReplyDeleteA slow cooker is going to be the next thing i purchase
ReplyDeleteI love my slow cooker!
ReplyDeleteSoup is good when it's cold.
ReplyDeleteI don't tend to meal plan. unless I am doing something in the slow cooker, which I get the meat out of the freezer the night before.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good
ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting and varied meal plan ... but it also sounds as if you are going to really have to stay strong to stick to your meal replacement specially on day three with sausage casserole and home made bread going on! I know you can do it :0)
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of using chicken/bacon in a lasagne! We were getting a little bored of minced beef, so switched to pork which is lovely. Will be giving your suggestions a go though!
ReplyDeleteI need to lose another four lbs. Cake keeps tempting me.
ReplyDeleteWe always have lots of vegetables as side dish and sweet potatoes.
ReplyDeletemmm yummy, sausage casserole is one of my favorite meals and i always double the amount when doing casseroles and freeze what's left over for a quick meal next time
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to not get into a rut with veg so introducing different ones each week. This week is featuring the dull turnip but hey it is seasonal and have finally learnt a method which gives a bit of flavour!
ReplyDeleteI always have to plan meals as i am a celiac and also have to prepare for the rest of the family, but love trying new receipes
ReplyDeleteGreat choice, always good to plan meals :)
ReplyDeleteI would need to organise myself to do this..... but then would probably decide I wanted something else to eat.
ReplyDeleteSounds a good plan, I would happily eat all that. Not sure about a meal replacement though. We are having salad tonight, I'll have it with some Wensleydale.
ReplyDeleteHubby is making a great paella with chorizo, chicken and prawns right now. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteVery organised!
ReplyDeleteI love pre-planning recipes too; it makes it more likely I'll cook from scratch because I've already got all the ingredients in advance.
ReplyDeleteGood idea
ReplyDeleteDefinitely going to try and make a lasagna using chicken and bacon instead of beef :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck!! I would use my slow cooker every day, unfortunately few of my kids are fussy and to them the slow cooker is 'The Enemy' ;-)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely going to try and make a lasagna using chicken and bacon instead of beef
ReplyDeletesounds fabulous
ReplyDeletegreat ides x
ReplyDeleteI love to have a meal plan. Yours looks fab!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a cook, but I do enjoy making (and eating!) lasagne too. My 'get organised' plan for the rest of the year includes making meal plans... hope I can stick to them!
