Technology has evolved so much over recent years and thinking about the future, the next gadgets that will be available and what energy will look like is rather interesting - especially through the eyes of a child as their imaginations are so incredibly vivid. I've spent many an afternoon sat under an umbrella propped up blanket which the Mini Mes have informed me is a huge palace or a fort filled with knights and princesses, watching them drive a cardboard box sports car and lay beneath a row of chairs which was, obviously of course, a flying bus or rocket on the way to the moon.
Jamster was asked by E.ON to draw what he imagines the future of energy will look like and as he loves a good challenge he quickly grabbed a pad of paper, some gel pens and began to doodle...
Jamster drew himself, after a good session at the gym it would appear, holding Pokeballs (the Pokemon craze is real) and wearing a hat which allows his thoughts to control and power his hoverboard! Naturally this has solar panels to charge it as and when required too and apparently there are wheels underneath that come down so he can do stunts at the skate park with friends while his boots are magnetic, enabling him to turn upside-down without falling off if needs be. I love it!
E.ON then passed his artwork over to a professional illustrator who transformed his creation into a quick draw video which Jamster was rather impressed with.
Until the world is run purely by the power of the sun and mental thought however, you might want to get your mitts on one of E.ON's Smart Meters as these allow you to keep tight control over the amount of money you spend on energy by showing you what you're using in real time - what a clever idea.
This post is brought to you in partnership with E.ON Energy. See if you could save money with their gas and electricity deals today. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
It makes a real difference to usage to see what you are using in realtime. It's a good way to control costs. x
ReplyDeleteI wonder what amazing technology we could have if it was left to kids to invent and design it!
ReplyDeleteAh I love the drawing. I agree with the above comment, it would totally be amazing if kids got to invent and design it. Even more reason to invest into the future and keep kids being kids for longer. Such amazing imaginations.
ReplyDeleteLove Jamster's drawing of himself on a hoverboard - we need to get a smart meter ordered to keep track of household spending on utilities x
ReplyDeleteI love the drawing and I wish E:on would get on and give us the Smart Meter we keep asking for!
ReplyDeleteFab doodle, what fun thinking that up! Yes Pokemon catching is still rife here too so totally get the pokemon balls in each hand! x
ReplyDeleteMore children need to be employed as inventors. I swear if grown ups just got on and created what they asked for, our world would be a much better place! As an aside, I had to stop on my way home yesterday to hop out of the car and get more Pokeballs. Oh, the shame....
ReplyDeletea overboard would be amazing. you never know ;)
ReplyDeleteTHat is amazing what they did to his drawing - I could totally do with a hoverboard here x x
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool video, I can see why he was impressed
ReplyDeleteOh these drawings are the cutest. I would love a smart meter! xo
ReplyDeletePretty amazing drawing and I love the illustration they made out of it.
ReplyDeleteI am still disappointed that we don't have hoverboards like Back To The Future predicted.
ReplyDeleteThat is so incredibly cute! We have a smart meter and it's been really interesting.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute video. We really want a smart meter. It'll be really good to see what we're using. x
ReplyDeleteCurrently waiting for our slot to get a Smart Meter fitted.
ReplyDeleteAh love the drawing - how good is that! And how fun that they transformed it :) I've always toyed with the idea of a smart meter, something I need to have a look into :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm in Ireland and we use prepaypower, its a real-time meter aswell. I knowwhat eats the credit and avoid using it since we got it in and saved loads!!
ReplyDeleteFab drawings
ReplyDeleteE.ON's Smart Meter would be great to have to check everything and help our your neighbors and relatives, too. It could be shocking! I've been able to update a few things like a refrigerator and the difference is overwhelming what new energy efficient appliances save
ReplyDeleteWhat a great imagination your boy has. A great drawing x
ReplyDeleteLove the drawing! I like the idea of a smart meter - might have to look into it.
ReplyDeleteThe smart meter sounds fantastic, I'm going to look in more detail about getting us one!
ReplyDeletethings have changed so much in my lifetime, cannot begin to imagine how things will be for my grandaughter!?!
ReplyDeleteamazing, crazy to think what the world will be like when my daughter grows up!

ReplyDeleteI seem to think that, according to Back to the Future, we're meant to be going about on hover boards now!
ReplyDeletegreat doodle x
ReplyDeleteWeve had a smart meter for a while now, It does help but you still need to get out of bad habits like leaving lights on etc, that's the main thing really
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to get a smart meter. Will add to my 'to do' list now.
ReplyDeleteI am on prepay and some days it's like we use hardly any and then other days I wonder what happened. I really need a smart meter to see what's eating up all my electricity.
ReplyDeleteI love the drawing! I think everyone should have a smart meter... we don't!
ReplyDeleteHaha cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat info, we are actually awaiting the installation of our smart meter :)
ReplyDeleteI think that a smart meter is really important in these days of rising energy prices.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had solar panels on our home. Would be great to source energy from the sun instead of the power grid! Can't wait to see what the future holds for new tech xx
ReplyDeleteI think your son is a budding inventor. Give him some science building kits.

ReplyDeletefun doodle- glad to see you are positive about the future- keep up in the inventions - and the drawing. Creativity is important
ReplyDeleteThey really do sound a good idea
ReplyDeleteWe have a smart metre but it has never worked
ReplyDeleteGreat how they did the animation
ReplyDeleteI've got a smart meter and it makes you much more conscious of your energy usage, and more likely to turn things off when they are not needed.
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous they turned his drawing into an animation! We don't currently have a smart meter.
ReplyDeleteI think all kids should design future technology, it would probably be much better for us & much more fun!
ReplyDeleteI love my smart meters
ReplyDeleteLove this just fantastic what they did with the drawing :) x x
ReplyDeleteyour son has a great imagination!
ReplyDeleteCool!
