  11. Keep your hands super clean, especially when coming in from being in town/on the bus/being near strangers. And make sure that you don't keep snotty tissues too long- throw them away and get a new one out!

  14. Don't go turning up the heating & shut all windows, quite frankly do the opposite & let the bugs out rather than harboring them indoors. I also swear by Vicks vapour rub on your feet & then sticking socks on over it for bedtime.

  35. My son loves cheese and onion sandwiches, and he never gets sick, I'm convinced it's because of all the raw onion he eats! So my tip is plenty on raw onion as well as lots of fruit and veggies!!!!

  44. Always make sure you wash your hands with soap not just a quick rinse under the tap. Take a vitamin C supplement as well as having a well balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables.

  92. I wish I knew as I am ill at the moment, I think the best tip is to stay away from sick people, but very tough when you have a 2 and 4 yr old who pick stuff up in nursery/ school. I tried to keep the germs contained, but both myself and my husband finally succumbed just as the kids got better.

  144. To prevent we eat healthy food, drink vegetable juices, eat fermented vegetables and take vitamin C and D3. To fight we like to use natural methods.
    Runny noses:
    For young babies boil thyme or marjoram and let them breathe in the steam. For older children you can use essential oils like eucalyptus and tea tree.
    Cough:
    wet cough: onion, honey and garlic syrup (not for babies under 1)
    dry cough: beetroot and honey syrup
    temperature:
    get under the covers and sweat it out! alternatively use compresses of half and half water and apple cider vinegar or dunk your socks in the mixture and put them on. young children will benefit from a warm bath with a splash of apple cider vinegar.
