Ristorante - review

Italian is my favourite cuisine by far. With rich flavours, great quality produce and often simple yet delicious recipes it's no wonder it's one of the most popular foods in the world.

As I have been a little under the weather the past few days the Mr and I had the perfect opportunity to try out Ristorante pizza and have a night in bringing the tastes of an Italian restaurant into our home.

Dr Oetker provides a selection of thin and crispy based pizzas with a variety of  toppings to suit every taste, including vegetarians.

We opted for the 'Speciale' from the Ristorante range which has ham, salami, cheese, mushrooms, mozzarella and spicy herbs loaded on top.

Cooking straight from frozen it took around 10 minutes in the oven on 180 degrees. The toppings were plentiful and the base was crispy without being dry. It has lots of sauce and the selection of meats gave it flavour without being greasy. The Mr and I both agreed that it was nice.

We enjoyed the pizza with some curly fries and salad while watching a movie but you could easily have it candlelit for a romantic evening with a loved one or on the other hand enjoy it as party or celebration food sliced up to share. A portion, half a pizza, is 414 calories so it's not too bad for the waistline either.

Generally I go for deep pan but this was a pleasant alternative and I felt filled without being bloated. We would purchase this again!

*We received some vouchers to get a free pizza. The opinions given are honest and our own*
