Having just finished reading The unlikely Pilgrim of Harold Fry, the first of my 50 books to read this year, the topic of adventure was quite appropriate for this weeks Gallery theme. Harold finds himself walking over 600 miles wearing a suit and yachting shoes (not quite so appropriate!) to visit a friend that he hasn't seen for 20 years who is terminally ill. His adventure takes him across fields, through hedgerows and along busy roads to reach his goal.
Although we enjoy the great outdoors too, the biggest adventure I have experienced with the Mini Mes so far is our first holiday abroad as a family to Cyprus.
The new foods, the heat and humidity, the different language and even the flight itself was a big adventure for us as a family, but particularly for the Mini Mes who had never been away from English soil before.
I love how Minxy is trying to be cool in her swimwear and their expressions at seeing such huge drinks with flags in!
I can't wait to fly away to somewhere hot again soon... the sooner the better.
What has been your biggest adventure?

The theme this week is Adventure.
Drinks with flags in pleases me very easily!! Hope it was a great trip. I know it felt like a massive adventure the first time we went abroad with z too...a kind of very nerve wracking one but it was ok in the end :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like they took this adventure completely in their stride! Big grins all around!
ReplyDeleteOooo that looks lovely and warm, a nice change from the cold snow lol
ReplyDeleteLove the mocktails :) looks like a fab adventure - roll on the summer! x
ReplyDeleteLovely! I nearly posted our first holiday abroad as my adventure too (it was a disaster!), but did a snow post instead!
ReplyDeleteI need to book a holiday! x
ReplyDeleteDrinks with flags in please me too. Looks like an amazing holiday!
ReplyDeletelooks like such a fun holiday - quite fancy that drink myself.
ReplyDeleteThink parenting has been my biggest adventure - it's a non stop rollercoaster, although I wouldn't change it for the world!
Any trip abroad with children is definitely an adventure, looks like they have a taste for it though :)
ReplyDeleteI'm super impressed by a drink with a flag in, so I imagine kids would go mad for it. Looks like your kids had a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteRob..
Thanks for all the comments, I've been over and commented on all of your posts too :) x
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely happy smiling faces, looks like they enjoyed their adventures in Cyprus!
ReplyDeleteHow funny, I have just read that too! It's a nice book isn't it? Got quite attached to the characters in the end! Lovely pictures, hope 2013 is full of great adventures for you all! :)
ReplyDeleteI think personally my biggets adventure was 6 weeks in Africa..... as a family, we did South Africa last year and was a proper little adventure for us. Love family holidays. :)
