No TV and remote to argue over who watches what.
No games consoles to fight about which character they want to be
No board games to stress about who goes first and which colour counter they wish to control.
Going back to basics brings the Mini Mes together.
They helped each other climb the frame.
They played in the sand pit and dug holes.
They took it in turns to push the other on the swing.
I sat in a chair by the window and watched for what felt like a wonderful eternity.
I witnessed them laughing, having fun and sharing.
Simply enjoying the company of one another.
They didn't need me as referee.
They were playing freely and naturally in the great outdoors.
They didn't need me as referee.
They were playing freely and naturally in the great outdoors.

I am very jealous of that amazing play frame in your garden!
ReplyDeleteI love getting outdoors - so good for the soul! I feel sad listening to my neighbours' kids stuck inside all weekend playing on their PlayStation. There's a huge park at the end of the street and we have a lovely woodland area where we are too, perfect for exploring. "When I was a kid..." is my phrase at the moment! I used to always be outside. I wish we had a bigger garden with more grass so we could get more equipment. It's all concrete so not very "kid friendly"! Enjoy the sunshine when it's here. x
ReplyDeleteIt's so important to turn off all the electronic stuff sometimes, especially after a busy day or week. And I agree with rachel- v jealous of the climbing frame!! x
ReplyDeleteI used to be outdoor all the time when I was smaller, didn't have all those devices and I think I was happy kid :) But when I look at my little half brother he seems to live for tablet and phone games!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely swing set I'm sure they love it. I love that it's being a lot less wet out. I miss the outdoors!
ReplyDeletePerfect photo that wins any argument about children playing indoors or out!
ReplyDeleteMy boys played lovely with Lego at the weekend when they had nothing else to play with. Seriously thinking of getting rid of half their toys as they have so much they don't know where to start x
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Perfect for children. I love seeing them having fun outdoors entertaining themselves. This would be perfect to link up to my let kids be kids linky on a tuesday if you fancy joining in?
ReplyDeleteWow, their own mini-playground! I wish that we have our own house with garden by the time A. grows up... Thankfully he's still small, and I hope to teach him to play outdoors whenever he can - so far he doesn't even show much interest in noisy, flashy musical toys but prefers basic, simple things, so maybe we can keep it up :)
ReplyDeleteVery jealous of this! Looks amazing and now the weather is picking up I am sure its going to be a lot more!
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely to see your children connect isn't it. Thank goodness for good weather!
ReplyDeleteI can almost hear the laughter through my computer screen! #MagicMoments
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much fun and enjoyment can actually be had when technology is removed from the picture and they look like they've had a blast out in the garden. Totally jealous of their play frame too xxx #livingarrows

ReplyDeleteIsn't it great when the weathers good and the kiddies can play outside. Lovely, fun picture!
ReplyDeleteYour children look like they are having a great time. We often turn off all electrical stuff (except my phone obvs) and chuck the children into the garden. They run around quite happily until they are exhausted, it is so lovely to watch.
ReplyDeleteMy children have loved the better weather recently too. Let's hope we have a lovely summer!
ReplyDeleteI love that quote, so so true. And going back to basics sounds like a great idea. I can't wait for more nice weather so we can do it more often. x
ReplyDeleteJust being able to get outside and enjoy some fresh air is so wonderful, my kids love it too - they can amuse themselves for ages, with no fighting! Great photo x #WhatstheStory

ReplyDeleteMine play much better when they're outside playing together than when they're inside. They seem to be constantly bickering at the moment but get them outside and they're nice as pie!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to get outdoors and connect with nature and ourselves without the distraction of technology! No wonder they're loving being outside with that fab climbing frame x
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing quite like siblings playing together, happily, and not fighting. A true heart-melt moment.
ReplyDeleteThat climbing frame is amazing! I always wanted one like that. I cant wait till the weather improves.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than going back to basics - children who visit us just love being outside - on the trampoline, in the play area or with the animals ... and mine are so much less argumentative when outside ... or maybe I just don't hear them!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks lovely. We are trying to reduce screen time a lot at the moment. So worth it x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo! It is always lovely when you just get out and forget about modern technology x
ReplyDeleteFantastic - it looks like they are having a brilliant time, I agree with others - I would love to have your garden! Fresh air and sunshine are just what we need at times :-)
ReplyDeleteThis post really made me smile, that's just beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteIs it a novelty because the weather is suddenly better or are you away at relatives? I only ask, as if it is your own garden, hopefully there's lots more of this to come, as it is planned to be 18 degrees this weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are fingers crossed going to get a new garden soon - it would be a dream come true to be able to get something like that. xxx
