I've been quite naughty when it comes to breakfast recently and I either don't have any at all or resort to eating the wrong things while on the move... chocolate fudge cake is breakfast, right?!
It's really not a good idea but sometimes you just get into a bad routine which I unfortunately have done.
Special K Granola is one of the few cereals that actually appeals to me, to be honest there are some that look like cardboard aren't there, and with its delicious five grain recipe, made from Oats, Barley, Wheat, Spelt, and Rye I was tempted to make the time in the morning to give it a go and drop my
new bad habit.
new bad habit.
The granola comes in two flavours of apple & raisins and cranberries, pumpkin seeds & almonds.
Apple and Raisin |
I was pleasantly surprised and I think it has given me the kick up the backside that I required to step away from the bacon rolls for elevenses and work on my bikini body. You should start the day as you mean to go on after all. In resealable bags they are better for the environment and they also keep the granola fresher for longer which is superb.
The clusters are crisp and filling and as it’s 30 per cent less fat than most other granola, fortified with 6 B vitamins and Iron it's even better for my health than alternative brands. The raisins were plump and juicy and the cranberries give the sweetness I require - even the Mr has tucked into some which is unusual for him!
Cranberries, pumpkin seeds and almonds |
Special K Granola is available from major supermarkets with an RRP of £2.99 for a 370g bag.

ReplyDeleteI never skip breakfast as I feel icky if my blood sugars get low. I vary my breakfast alot sometimes porridge or yoghurt or toast but lately I have been enjoying special K with red berries its gorgeous, have not tried the granola though. I bet this would be a fab basis to make flapjacks with, you'd only have to stir in melted butter, brown sugar and golden syrup to the granola and it would be ready for baking. Have commented on decorating boiled eggs post and carrott cupcakes. Am Martha Smith on all blogs etc but have Rod Smith in email address
