Our Top 6 Family Movies To See This Summer

I've always had a love for the movies. I really enjoy the whole experience of going to the cinema, picking up a hot dog (with lots of mustard) and a tub of Ben & Jerry's before settling down on the back seats to see something new and exciting. The big screen, comfy seats and atmosphere in the darkness are really mesmerising for me.

The Mini Mes have a similar passion for films and there are quite a few releases this summer that they are looking forward to seeing. These are the top 6 on our family watch list!

Cinderella - Out Now at Cineworld

This classic tale has just hit the box office as a live-action version and I really can't wait to see it. I'm not sure who is more eager to get tickets; the Mini Mes or me! I'm such a big Disney fan and this really leaves me feeling a little nostalgic at the thought. The idea of an ordinary girl finding a prince is magical and the fact that his royal highness is played by Richard Madden makes it that little bit more appealing. A great family must-see with a wonderful cast and amazing costumes.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - 23rd April 2015

The superheros reunite to save mankind from a menacing robot named Ultron in another movie from Marvel Studios. It is bound to be a big hit. Jamster is a HUGE fan of Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and co and I must admit that I do often opt for a good action movie myself. This arrives in cinemas at the end of the month and we are hoping to go to an advance screening.

Two by Two - 1st May 2015

This animated comedy is a twist on the story we know as Noah's Ark. From the perspective of some rather cute animals named Finny and Dave it follows their adventure to get on board the ship and what happens when they fall overboard. It is set to be a funny and feel good movie which focuses on team work - a good hidden meaning for kids.

Inside Out - 24th July 2015

Pixar brings you another superb animation all about feelings in 'Inside Out'. Riley Anderson has to pack up and move away from her home when her father gets a new job and the movie is set in her mind where her five emotions Joy, Anger, Disgust, Fear and Sadness lead her through life. This sounds a little quirky but we all think it will bring humour and something a little different to cinemas this summer.

Minions - 26th June 2015

This movie is based around the Minions life before Gru and their lack of success at finding and keeping an evil genius as a master! Feeling as though their lives are meaningless without a leader, Bob, Stuart and Kevin head off in search of someone new. We are all big Minion fans here with Despicable Me, one and two, watched regularly within our home. These cheeky yellow characters will leave you in fits of giggles no doubt!

Pixels - 14th August 2015

This sci-fi comedy sees Adam Sandler fight against alien invaders... characters from arcade games including well know Pac-Man and Donkey Kong! It looks like a film that children and adults alike will appreciate when retro characters meet a modern idea and it will be a great movie to see over the summer holiday.
