Halloween Party Food - Brain Bites

No Halloween is complete without some spooky treats to enjoy and these popcorn and marshmallow 'brains' are strangely delicious yet vile in appearance. Perfect for any party! They are quick and easy to make so you could do them last minute if necessary and you can alter the ingredients to suit your taste - you can use rice puffs or another cereal too.

Ingredients

100g Popcorn (we used kernels and made our own)
200g Marshmallows
25g Butter
Food colouring
Jam/coloured gel icing

Method
  •  Warm a deep saucepan over a low heat and melt the butter
  • Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until melted
  • Mix in the popcorn and coat completely
  • Add a few drops of red food colouring to create a bloody look
  • Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly
  • Grease your hands and divide the mixture into 10 balls
  • Shape the 10 pieces into oval shapes that are flat on the bottom and raised on top so that they look like a brain
  • Use a knife and create a line down the centre to make them appear more realistic
  • Use jam or red gel icing down the centre
  • Scoff!
