Turkey
This is a European destination where families with children are very welcome with the locals being extremely friendly and helpful. Famous for its mud baths and delicious cuisine, Turkey also has a lot more to offer. If you are keen on history and architecture, the capital city Istanbul has an array of castles, palaces, and markets to visit, as well as trips on ferryboats to experience as a different mode of transport to the everyday walking and catching the bus.
A popular excursion is travelling to the rock pinnacles of Cappadocia where you and your family can discover magical caves and labyrinths that will excite your imagination. While you’re there, why not take a trip on a hot air balloon and get a wonderful view of the entire city!
For younger children, there are many waterparks to visit, as well as most resorts and hotel having kids clubs that will keep your little ones entertained the whole day while you relax by the pool and soak up the sun.
Greek Islands
Kefalonia
This Greek island is part of the Ionian string of islands along the west coast with Corfu, Lefkas and Zante (Zakynthos). ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’, spread the popularity of the region and it is regularly visited by British tourists. With a combination of old and new, you can discover adorable unspoilt villages that have escaped the tourist trade.
When touring the mountains the astonishing views are absolutely breath-taking over the chain of islands, be prepared for a long drive and bring plenty of water as the heat is intensive. You can rent cars to investigate the more remote beaches, the Pali peninsula and escape the popular areas. A good idea to take it all in is by hiking with the kids, where you will also be able to have a picnic with produce from local markets. A kids favourite game, play hide and seek amongst the foliage then cool down under a Mimosa tree or Jacaranda.
Zante
This island is a popular destination not only for its selection of hotels, restaurants, and bars, but also because it is much less expensive that its neighbouring islands. There is a number of different low cost resorts along the beach, perfect for families looking for a relaxing break with extraordinary views and water activities to participate in.
Andalucia, Spain
Treat yourselves to one of the ten villas on offer at the Casitas del Lago which is perfectly positioned to overlook the Vinuela lake. While you are admiring the stunning views of the looming mountains, your children are tackling the essential techniques of mini-golf, cavorting on the trampoline, enjoying the thrill of the swings or the enclosed pools. Included are also an indoor games room with ping-pong and table football.
Sicily, Italy
If you fancy trying an alternative holiday, why not visit Princely Houses Farm located at the foothills of Mount Etna where there is the principle house surrounded by five cottages accommodating four to eight guests. You will be surrounded by the scent and glory of a garden immersed in citrus, olive and palm trees. The houses all include secluded terraces and gardens and share a vast sun terrace with two oversized pools and an adjoining play section. For the kids, Taormina is only moments away with its cable car to the beach or Parco Avventura Etna, the forested adventure play world.

ReplyDeletesee for us we never get to go abroad, having a large family means we cant get one room in a hotel together so it ends up costing a fortune , camping is our ideal holiday trip but i hope one day i can get to travel
