A Royal Summer

This time last year we were eagerly awaiting the arrival of a little prince; George. He is already a major trend setter with many mums purchasing the same attire for their own little boys, and he hasn't yet turned 1! It looks as though it's going to be a very royal summer indeed with his birthday on the agenda, and plenty of celebrations for Kate and William's bundle of joy, plus many other special occasions too for the royals too...

Prince George had one of the heaviest birth weights of any royal recorded and it's predicted that it

Reasons to be happy

My reasons to be happy

We are currently enjoying a family holiday in Torquay, 5 days away from the norm at the seaside. Perfect. The weather has been surprising good considering how it has been the past few weeks so I'm very thankful for that!

Another birthday this week with Minxy turning 9. She received lots of lovely gifts and we enjoyed a family meal out on Sunday to celebrate. I'm happy to have such a bright and kind daughter who is turning into a little lady.

The weight loss continues. I've not really been calorie counting the past few weeks and I've managed to still lose a few pounds which I'm so pleased about. Once we return from our holiday I'll be increasing the exercise considerably though while I'm searching for a new job.

My reasons to be happy

The Easter break fast approaches and I can't wait to spend a fortnight with the Mini Mes. Both of their birthdays are during this break so I'm looking forward to celebrating with them being at home rather than school! We have lots planned including a trip to Torquay with friends, a few cinema visits and days out at the zoo.

The school Easter fete is being held today and Minxy has offered to work on her stall, selling ice cream! She is always keen to help others and is very kind in that way which makes me a rather proud mummy. Hopefully we can win some eggs on the raffle while we are there!

We are going to Drayton Manor at the weekend and I'm really looking forward to a day out as a family. I'm hoping the weather improves a little though as it seems bitterly cold out there again but hopefully it will be a nice way to enjoy the Mr's birthday (yep, 3 family birthdays in the space of 14 days eek).

Capturing magical moments

Capturing special moments on film is a constant reminder of the magical times we have shared as a family and I love having pictures on show around our house. It makes it a real home.

Since having the Mini Mes I have been inspired to take more photos, to see how they have grown, so when they are older they can look back at all of the good times we have had.

Days out, birthdays, playing. Memories caught by the camera.

One of my favourites is this...

It was a moment when I was trying to capture Jamster's cheeky smile before we headed out for a birthday meal. Minxy then popped up behind him photo bombed for a hug!

It reminded me that despite the bickering and shouting that they do get on really well and love each other as brother and sister and as friends.

It's the moments like this that makes my heart melt as a mother.

Do you have a favourite family photo?

They grow too fast

Next month Jamster will be turning 7, I'm not sure how that happened so quickly but I have begun to plan his day and picked up a few presents for him already... mostly Marvel for my little Spider Man fan!
Thankfully it is a teacher training day so he won't be at school and we can spend the day having fun.

I still remember his first birthday at my parent's house, I had moved back in temporarily after I split with the Mini Me's dad, and how he had very little idea about what was going on but loved the attention regardless! He probably had more fun eating, ripping paper and playing with empty boxes than he did his actual gifts but I think the majority of kids are the same when they are very small.
I made a buffet and had family over to celebrate too...

He has always loved to suck two fingers and remains to do so even now when he is tired, something that hasn't changed! He has however developed into a rather cheeky yet intelligent and cute little dude over the years.
His birthday's 2nd-6th
Do you feel that time goes to quickly when you have children?
